Showcase of MLA and Local Revisions LO5 & LO6
In class we have learned how to in-text cite citations and how to format our citations in an MLA style. My significant writing project on big data shows my ability to cite sources using a MLA format. For example in my essay I state, “Harlan M. Krumholz, is the Harold H. Hines Jr. professor of medicine and epidemiology and public health at the Yale University School of Medicine, in the article “Big Data and New Knowledge In Medicine: The Thinking, Training, and Tools Needed For a Learning Health System” he states that, “Patients and clinicians often have too little information to determine in specific instances which strategies to embrace and which to avoid based on a choice that is truly informed by accurate information about risk and benefits” (1164).” Here I set up my source by using framing techniques and properly MLA citing it. Also you can see in this particular example towards the end of my quote I formatted it correctly. I used to put commas right at the end of my quotes and that isn’t how it should be formatted so I have been really conscious to make sure it is done correctly. Since the beginning of the semester I have made huge improvements on local scale issues and MLA citations.
