Summary: Sherry Turkle’s “Connected, But Alone”
Turkle’s TED Talk was about the use of technology. Turkle had been on TED before in the 90’s talking about the new age of technology. Now she was talking about how technology is holding us back. She used a lot of stock images but she also used an image of her daughter and her friends which I thought was important because it showed the impact of technology in her personal life. I think that a lot of what she had to say was relevant because I often noticed that when I am alone I go on my phone as a comfort thing. She also didn’t overuse visuals and didn’t necessarily have a visual for each point she made.

Hi, Christine,
I like the way you really analyzed the way Turkle used her visual. As you think about your own presentation, this may serve as a model. I agree that the personal picture does make a bigger impact than stock images or textual key concepts. I look forward to hearing more of your thoughts on Turkle and the others. Thanks for your post!
